and approaching new york city, philadelphia, baltimore and d.c. definitely an umbrella day. you step outside you know it's going to pour at some portion of the day. still have breaks of sun. not going to rain all day long. when the sun comes out it will be warm. temperatures in the mid 80s with high humidity and thunderstorms rolling through areas along the border of iowa and illinois. looks like chicago that's going to stay to your west, that's good. no air travel problems out of chicago this morning. but later today, numerous thunderstorms from st. louis to chicago all the way through the southeast. notice how hot we are in dallas, 102 today. yesterday you were 103. and as far as charlotte goes, we had rainfall and thunderstorms last night. i think we're going to do it again this afternoon into the evening. the big forecast is for thursday night. the president will be trying to speak outdoors at bank of america stadium. they're trying to say they're going to do it rain or shine. the biggest fear any lightning with the thunderstorms. but at 10:30 at night hopefully all that should be dying off

in 2012? susan is in baltimore. hi susan. caller: hello. no i'm not going to stick with president obama this time. i feel that he's creating such a divisive atmosphere in our country and a very -- i'm very concerned for that, being the person who we want in our leadership. i feel like he has not shown us any substantive plans in the four years that he's been in business as the president, and instead, it seems like he wants to be rehraeblgt dollars, he picks -- reelected, he picks hot button issues such as will and illegal aliens, and he just starts divisiveness and causes peoples' emotions, the people who fall in those categories, i'm one of those people, and i have children and they are in one of those categories, and he doesn't have a plan, he puts it temporarily together and touts that as plan, but it's not, so that he can get reelected. again, if he was doing a good reelection campaign and maybe used things like that but also had demonstrated over the last almost four years some good, strong substantive plans that brought the economy to our country and brought the people together, w

a month and a half the yankees began a four-game series with the orioles in baltimore. the yankees had a one game lead on the orioles coming into the game. and the o's strike early. matt weeder's three-run home run in the first inning, it's 4-0 orioles already. yankees were getting blown out but rallied in the eighth scoring five runs capped by ichiro's two run single, tied the game at six. but in the bottom half of the frame, adam jones at the plate hits a bomb into the left field seats. orioles hit six home runs off yankee pitching. baltimore goes on to win 10-6. yankees and o's again tied atop the al east, three more games against each other this weekend. >>> nationals going for the sweep over the cubs. things get ugly. couple coaches start jawing at each other. the benches, bull pens clear in washington and nothing happens. a lot of standing around, people looking at each other, talking. no punches thrown. but still a little bad blood left over. bryce harper going to take exception to a pitch way inside, takes a step toward the mound, this time a little more serious, benches and bu

. baltimore book fest. tomorrow, richmond, virginia, at noon. and then in the evening i'll speak in norfolk. then on monday night, we'll be at virginia tech, which is very interesting, going back to the scene of the massacre. i'll be speaking there, you know, 32 people were killed there. and colin goddard is coming with us. he was one of those victims. he was shot four times. i'm also looking forward to interviewing a professor there. and then we're on to colorado for the big debate. we're going to be doing something interesting. we're both speaking on the silent majority election 2012 tour, but also we do this daily, radio and television broadcast that airs on over 1,100 stations, so we have to do the broadcast wherever we are. and being on the scene has been remarkable. i'll give you one example. we, last week, were in freeport, illinois, and got a truck, and we went to the stevenson fairgrounds. it was right across the street from a plant which happened to be owned by bain capital. across the street, the workers, the employees of this plant who worked there like, oh, dot turner for 4 ye
